Midfielder 'Leo' is expected to make it 76 caps when Norway take on Tunisia in a friendly on Wednesday.
Steffen said: I think Leo can get quite a few more caps. He's a very good athlete and he has at least three, four years to go. I hope he can get to 100 caps. I think there is only one player over 100 and then Erik Thorsvedt on 96. It would be nice to see him do it. He's been a bit unlucky. He's had injuries and without those he might have been there already. He's a tremendous athlete and I think he has at least three years left in him. If we play enough games I'm sure he'll make it.
We have new players coming through. There have been a lot of changes in the last couple of years. We have a young squad now and I think we're on our way. We played well in our last couple of matches. It's important forus to get a team that can play together in every game and get that continuity.
We've got to be at the European Championships. I think we were unlucky in the World Cup, got lots of draws, but a new team is coming through.
Steffen Iversen is convinced Oyvind Leonhardsen can reach a century of caps for Norway.
