Michael Brown admitted it felt like forever before he finally made his debut against Liverpool on Saturday.
And typically for a player within the current crop at the club, he insisted that the win was more important than any personal satisfaction.
"The win was most important," he stressed. "That was the main thing for the club and it was great to get the points and a little breathing space.
"For me, it was fantastic to pull the shirt on and get out there because it felt like I'd been waiting for ever.
"Now I've done it, I'm underway and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
"Everyone has been really friendly. The crowd gave me a fantastic reception and hopefully I can produce some good form for them."
