Wilson Palacios gives perhaps his most in-depth interview to date exclusively to the latest issue of hotspur, the Club's official monthly magazine.
The Honduran midfielder has become something of a hero with our fans since his January move from Wigan Athletic, mainly due to his swashbuckling performances in the middle of the park that contributed so much to our impressive late-season form.
But the fact that Wilson performed so well in the face of personal adversity and subsequent tragedy brings him that little bit closer to the hearts of our loyal support.
And in this exclusive piece, the 24-year-old expresses his gratitude towards the reception he has received from our following whenever he has pulled on the Lilywhite shirt to date.
"It's been an incredibly difficult time," Wilson tells hotspur. "My family have been very supportive, as have the club. That support has allowed me to grieve and spend time with my family and friends.
"I couldn't help but notice the fans chanting my name in those games towards the end of last season, so they're very close to my heart. Their support has helped me get through this time.
"It was a dream move for me coming here. Wigan have fantastic fans even though they're a smaller club, but you can tell that Spurs is bigger.
"When you walk out at White Hart Lane the atmosphere is amazing. The crowd is so close to the pitch and it's always full."
Now, Wilson is ready to get back down to the business of another new Premier League season, and here he looks ahead to the big kick-off against Liverpool in August.
"They're a very tough team, but there's no reason why we can't start well. The lads beat them a couple of times last season and let's not forget, we're a good side too.
"We'll just be concentrating on doing as well as we can. We're all very positive and we'll aim to get as high up the table as possible."
Wilson also speaks about his footballing family, the game back in his Honduras homeland, and his new life in London.
But the only place to read this eye-opening interview in full is in the August issue of hotspur magazine.
