Our Under-18s hit the woodwork twice as they drew 0-0 with Caracas FC in their second game of the Copa Chivas tournament in Mexico on Sunday.
John Bostock (pictured right v Chivas) was denied in the first half and Ryan Mason in the second half against the Venezuelan team at the Colegio Once México Stadium in Zapopan, Jalisco.
The lads opened the tournament with a fine 2-0 win against hosts Chivas on Saturday.
Coach Alex Inglethorpe reported: "We had the better chances in the first half and John Bostock hit the crossbar with a free-kick.
"Defensively we looked solid against a strong, robust side and we had a couple of opportunities in the second half, Ryan Mason also hit the bar and we thought we had a certain penalty when Ryan went through on goal and looked to have been brought down.
"They were tough opponents and also hit the woodwork late on but our centre-backs Yuri Berchiche and Calum Butcher were excellent and our full-backs Nathan Byrne and Sam Cox were very good.
"Josh Ekim also did well in the first half and we've now started 18 of the 20-man squad we brought out here.
"This was a completely different game to the opener against Chivas which was held in the main stadium but credit to the players, they adapted well.
"The lads are relishing every moment out here. It's all so different for them in terms of facilities, refereeing, the teams and formations they are up against, the weather and playing at altitude."
Spurs U18s: Butler, Byrne, Cox, Ekim, Berchiche, Butcher, Fraser-Allen (Mason), Bostock (Parrett), Oyenuga (Smith), M'poku, Townsend (Obika).
