Wisdom’s story

Posted on 26 April 2017  - 04:00

In the latest in a series of features celebrating a decade of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, we meet Wisdom, who was in foster care when he was referred to the To Care Is To Do programme.

To Care Is To Do is designed to engage looked-after-children and care leavers with a range of support services to help improve educational attainment, increase employability, develop life skills and promote healthy and active lifestyles.

The support provided by the Club brought Wisdom out of his shell and allowed him to fulfil his potential, resulting in him recently winning a Haringey Outstanding For All Award for academic achievement after overcoming adversity.

Wisdom said: “Before I entered the To Care Is To Do programme I was going through a difficult time and didn’t know what path to follow. My mentor Nikky helped me through that period in my life and gave me the confidence to express myself. I’m now doing my A-Levels and dreaming of going to university.”
