Aaron Lennon gives a rare and insightful interview to the latest issue of hotspur, which is now on sale.
The winger was voted our Player of the Season by fans for some magnificent performances that galvanised our terrific late-season form.
In this exclusive piece, the 22-year-old puts this down to a number of factors he feels have helped him become a more complete player.
"I feel I'm a different player from the one who signed back in 2005, and different still from the Aaron Lennon of a year ago," Aaron tells the Club's official monthly magazine.
"Football is all about getting the mental and physical sides right, but it's only when those two elements come together that you really get the idea that you've progressed.
"Over the second half of the campaign in particular, it feels like I've stepped up to a whole new level of performance."
And he reaped the rewards, putting pen to paper on a new contract at the Club in late March before earning a call-up to the full England squad for the first time in two years just days later.
"Getting back into the England reckoning has definitely been one of the most pleasing aspects of the season for me," he adds.
"I had been away from the whole setup for a while, yet it seemed like everything came together at once - signing a new deal here, being a big part of the Spurs revival, and making my mark on the international scene.
"And now it's a case of continuing that progress, particularly given how close we are to the World Cup Finals."
Aaron goes on to speak about how he had to cope with media attention from an early age, the impact Harry Redknapp has had on both him and the team, and sums up the 2008-09 season as a whole.
This is an interview not to be missed, and you can order your copy of the June issue of hotspur online now.
