Wilson Palacios is looking to emulate the form that made him such hot property during his time at Wigan as he prepares to make his Spurs debut at Bolton tomorrow.
The Honduran midfielder, who arrived from the JJB earlier in the month, said he is delighted to have signed for the Club at his media unveiling today.
But he knows that, despite the praise he has earned from new manager Harry Redknapp, he must not rest on his laurels and keep working hard.
Wigan boss Steve Bruce has also spoken highly of the 24-year-old, but Wilson's determination to continue his development as a player is clear to see.
"I'm extremely happy to have signed with Tottenham Hotspur," he said. "I've had a fantastic welcome so far from my new team-mates, and now it's all about starting to play, and I hope I am in the manager's plans for tomorrow.
"I got on very well with Steve Bruce. He had a lot of confidence in me and, in turn, that gave me a lot of confidence as a player.
"But this is a new beginning for me, I've come to a new club, and I'm looking forward to it.
"I've just got to carry on working as hard as I did at my last club, try to play as well as I did there, and I hope that I take that form into my time at Spurs.
"When the manager has said positive things about you, it fires you up even more to work hard and back those comments up out on the field."
Coverage of Wilson's unveiling to the media is now available in The Lodge section of Spurs TV Online.
