Willem's goodbye

Posted on 3 December 2001  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Dutch midfielder Willem Korsten will say his final farewell tonight as he prepares for life back home in Holland.

The unlucky 26-year-old was forced to retire from the game through injury earlier this season after joining us from Vitesse Arnhem in May, 1999. Willem, a former Dutch Under-21 international, made 27 appearances for us and scored three goals.

He will take to the White Hart Lane pitch for one final time this evening just before kick-off to say thank you and give our supporters the opportunity to show their appreciation for his hard work and dedication to the club’s cause.

Willem will be returning to Holland with his family for good after tonight’s game and everyone at the club wishes him all the best for the future. He will always be welcomed back at the Lane.

Good luck, Willem.
