Ledley was outstanding in England's heartbreaking late 2-1 defeat against France in the Euro 2004 opener in what was his first competitive game for his country.
He came in for John Terry but the Chelsea defender is now nearing full fitness and should be available for Thursday's vital game against Switzerland.
"King was absolutely fantastic," said boss Eriksson at this afternoon's press briefing. "I don't remember any mistake at all, he was quick, strong, made some good headers, so congratulations to him, he did well."
As for whether or not he would retain his place against the Swiss, Eriksson would only add: "It is good to have these problems. Terry should be ready and will do everything with us (in training) this afternoon."
Sven Goran Eriksson lavished further praise on Ledley King this afternoon - but refused to be drawn on whether or not he'll stay in the side.
