*Whistle stop tour boosts Cancer Research UK

Posted on 17 April 2003  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Four football fans arrived at the gates of White Hart Lane earlier this week as they sought to complete a whistle stop tour of all the Premier League clubs in less than 24 hours, in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Cancer Research UK is the club's nominated national charity so we were delighted to welcome them and support their efforts by donating a piece of signed memorabilia for them to auction.

Ray Fitzgerald, his sons Robert and Daniel, and Ryan Griffith all from the Manor Cubs Football Club in Hayes, Middlesex started off at 6am and made their way gradually from Newcastle to Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Leeds United, Bolton Wanderers, Blackburn Rovers, Manchester United, Manchester City, Everton, Liverpool, West Bromwich Albion, Birmingham City, Aston Villa, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Charlton, Fulham, Chelsea and finally arriving at Southampton at 2.30am the next day!

Their total journey time was just under 22 hours and in all they covered a massive 1,100 miles! In completing their task they hope to raise £3,000.
