When Harry met Irene

Harry Kane might have scored goals 23 and 24 for the campaign - but even he was upstaged by a supporter who captured the hearts of her fellow fans at White Hart Lane on Sunday. Not that he minded!

The biggest cheer of the afternoon was reserved for Irene McBride.

Irene is our oldest Season Ticket Holder, aged 101. Incredibly, she first set foot in the Lane all the way back in 1927. Since then, she's seen all the greats - title winners, double-winners, FA Cup winners, European glory - and she's still a regular at her second home today, 89 years on.

Sunday was a special day for Irene. Subject of a special presentation at half-time from one of those greats, Pat Jennings, Irene was beamed out on the big screens and handed a standing ovation from her fellow fans, followed by a chorus of 'hip hip, hooray' from all sides of the stadium. If there was a moment to encapsulate why our club is so special, that was it.

If that wasn't enough, Irene timed a walk back through the tunnel post-match to perfection to meet two-goal hero Harry still in his kit after our fine 3-0 win against Bournemouth.

"Irene is incredible," said Harry. "To think of her age and she's still here to support us, it's absolutely amazing.

"It was fantastic to meet her and I'm really grateful we managed to win today.

"It's incredible to have that support for so long and hopefully we'll continue getting wins and she's here for many, many years to come."
