Right wing-back 'Tano' will come face-to-face with left-winger Kewell in one of the key battles at Elland Road.
Kewell is back to his dangerous best after lengthy injury problems but the same could be said of Tano who is in his best form in a Spurs shirt since his switch to the Lane from Ipswich Town in November 1998.
"I try to see it as just another game," said Mauricio at Spurs Lodge this week.
"You are aware of him but against Newcastle Laurent Robert was one of the main wingers in the league who is causing problems to defenders and in the first half we were playing so confidently as a team that we were attacking them and he was defending.
"It's about us. If we can play forward and attack then he might think 'I have to defend' and he will forget about the attacking side.
"Obviously if you give him room, possession it could be a hard game but that is the way it is and you have to do the best you can."
So did he have any special plans for Kewell? "I've been here seven years now, I've seen him play and I know what his strengths are," said Tano. "We will try to push him back the other way.
"It worked against Newcastle but Leeds have played together more as a team and they are more organised.
"It could be hard but we are confident, we play our football and I try not to think too much of the opposition. I know he is there, hopefully he'll be aware I'm there too."
Odds of 50/1 Tarrico scoring first and that rises to 500/1 if Spurs go on to win 2-0 - click for details.
Mauricio Taricco knows all about the threat of Harry Kewell - but our in-form defender intends to give Leeds United's Aussie star plenty to think about on Sunday.
