Friday
The Independent, Star, Mail and Express say Spurs are favourite to land midfielder Edgar Davids, who is available on a free transfer following the conclusion of his loan spell at Barcelona. Most of the papers pick up on a press conference given by Helder Postiga at Euro 2004, where the striker says his future at the club is linked to being given more chances in the first team.

Thursday
Brief mentions in Star, Telegraph, Independent, Mail and Mirror of Clive Allen's appointment as Development Coach. Star also links us with Jerome Leroy, 29, of Guingamp, while the Mail says we have secured the services of 18-year-old defender Rodrigo Defuendi from Cruzeiro.

Wednesday
The Independent says that Newcastle may make a move for Stephen Carr, while the Guardian suggests we are interested in a double £5m bid for Chelsea's Geremi and Joe Cole.

Tuesday
Some of the papers quote Portuguese midfielder Deco saying that Helder Postiga will soon display his qualities again at club level, while the Sun shows a picture sequence of David Trezeguet spitting in the direction of Jacques Santini.

Monday
Snippets in the Express and Mail suggest that French international full-back Bixente Lizarazu is set to 'snub' Spurs, while the Mail also questions the appointment of Jacques Santini following France's elimination from Euro 2004.
