SUNDAY MIRROR

Now Gunners want to nick Hod's Carr

The Mirror claim that full-back Stephen Carr is an £18m target for Arsenal. The story suggests Gunners will offer £10m-rated Silvinho as part of a player-plus-cash deal. Meanwhile, the Irish star is also a target of Inter Milan, according to the NOTW, who quote him saying: "These days you need to spend £10m to £15m on individual players just to keep pace with the Premiership's top sides. Spurs haven't done that yet. I'm sure the fans would like to see one or two big names come in to complement the signings of Gus Poyet and Teddy Sheringham. We have to show we have the ambition to move forward. And these days the only way to do that is by investing big on new buys."

The Mirror also suggest that Ian Walker will move to Leicester City this week and we will attempt to conclude a bid to sign Liverpool's Christian Ziege.
