Two briefs today - the Mail say we've signed 17-year-old centre-back Rodrigo Defuendi for £600,000 from 'under the noses' of Italian and Spanish clubs while the Independent link Stephen Carr with a move to Newcastle.

Charlie Sale's column in the Mail highlights our new Head Coach Jacques Santini's lack of English in his post-match press conference after the England v France game. The Sun, FT and the Mail run the appointment of Mervyn Davies CBE as Non-Executive Director. There is also more praise for Ledley King, although pundits suggest he'll lose his place to fit again John Terry against Switzerland on Thursday.
