What the Papers Say 14-20 Apr

Posted on 20 April 2003  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Keeping an eye out for Spurs reports in the national press...

We're linked with various strikers including Viduka, Zamora and King while Teddy is linked with offers from Fulham, Charlton and West Ham.

Only match reports from Friday's 2-0 defeat against City.

The Star suggest we might go in for Rivaldo following the Brazilian's fall out with AC Milan. Pat Sheehan talks to Simon Davies in the Sun.

The tabloids go with Glenn Hoddle's comments on the transfer market from Wednesday's pre-City press conference.

Pat Sheehan quotes the boss in the Sun: "Domestically I can never see another club paying a transfer fee of around £30m. You never say never in this game but the only club in the world who wouldn't baulk at such a figure are Real Madrid.

"These days, the player would have to be something special to even command a fee of £6m. Fees are spiralling down and I think football needs it. It can only be good for the game."

The Mail links us with Celtic's Chris Sutton while speculation over Teddy Sheringham's contract situation finds its way into the Express and Mirror.

No Spurs news in Tuesday's papers.

The papers reflect with a mostly positive outlook on the 2-2 draw with Leeds at Elland Road on Saturday.
