What does it feel like to play at Spurs Lodge?

Posted on 8 February 2013  - 11:07

Plenty of junior players (and a few adults!) dream of playing football on the very same pitches used by their footballing heroes.

What does it feel like to play at Spurs Lodge?

This February half-term week (18-22 February) young players will have the chance to do just that, as they report to Spurs Lodge for a very special week of football coaching.

Young players aged 6-14 years old, across all ranges of abilities are invited to join us for a full day of concentrated coaching at our former First Team training facility in Chigwell.

Junior footballers will get to develop their skills in the all-weather 3-G dome, and weather-permitting, on the same grass pitches that were used by Andre Villas-Boas and First Team stars like Gareth Bale, Aaron Lennon and Clint Dempsey.

Players will be assigned into their various groups according to age and ability to work small groups on core skills with an emphasis on attacking flair. After this they will then come together for a series of fun sessions and games, before they break for their packed lunches.

The afternoon session then pitches players into tournament mode, with small-sided games and competitions. At the end of the week our FA and UEFA-badge professional coaches then deliver assess player’s development with special awards for the Most Improved player, Player of the Week and Best Attitude in Training.

As an added bonus, this half-term young players will have the chance to meet Jermain Defoe, Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Tom Caroll, and put their questions to them in a special Q&A session. If there’s time after training there should also be a chance to get players’ autographs.
