Allan Nielsen is ready to link-up with his former team-mates as Spurs Legends take on his Danish veterans team at Ware on Sunday.

The midfielder famed for his last-minute goal to win the League Cup against Leicester City at Wembley in 1999 is back at the Lane for Saturday's Premier League clash against Stoke before his team HOG Oldboys take on Spurs Legends at Ware FC on Sunday.

Allan is set to play for Spurs and link-up again with former team-mates Darren Anderton and David Howells in the 2pm kick-off at Wodson Park Stadium, Wadesmill Road, Ware, SG12 0UQ.

Garry Brooke, Mark Falco, Stuart Nethercott and Tony Galvin are also lined-up to play for Spurs Legends.

“I’m really looking forward to the whole weekend," said Allen, who made 115 appearances for us between 1996-2000.

“We have tickets for the game against Stoke and on Saturday it’s all about catching up with people and saying hello.

“I was last in the UK in November and I came to watch a game then, but it’s been too long.

“Then on Sunday we have the game, which I’m looking forward to for sure. I’ll be playing for the Spurs Legends though – I want to be on the winning team!”

Allan is champing at the bit to step onto the field with some of his old Tottenham pals again.

He warmed up for Sunday’s game in a local old boys outing in Denmark last week, and was pleased to be on the winning team: “It’s always good to win and I try to keep fit by playing in those sorts of games.”

Overseas matches against the likes of RCD Espanyol, Celtic and Ajax are just some of the showpiece games HOG Oldboys can list on their record books, as well as a friendly against the Danish National Oldboys team.

Tickets for Sunday's friendly are £5 for adults, £1 for concessions with Under-12s admitted free.
