We defended superbly to go in goalless at half-time and then took the lead through Gus Poyet's scorcher after 52 minutes.
But Ian Harte's shot somehow slipped through Neil Sullivan's fingers for the home side to level matters and Leeds maintained their top spot in the Premiership when Dean Richards headed a nothing throw towards his own goal and Sullivan and Chris Perry's mix-up allowed Harry Kewell to tap home the winner.
"We shot ourselves in the foot, it's a simple as that," said Glenn afterwards. "You scratch your head sometimes to see how you've lost a game.
"We didn't deserve to lose that game, that's for sure. From 1-0 up I didn't know where they were going to get a goal from.
"To give two goals away like we did was a tough pill to swallow because we performed well.
"But mistakes happen in football. Overall I was delighted withe football we played. We are the first Premeirship team to come here and score and at 1-0 I thought we were going to go on and win the game."
