Harry Redknapp felt we picked up the win we deserved in Sunday's derby at the Lane.
A typically frantic North London encounter was decided by a moment of derby magic by Kyle Walker in the 73rd minute, a 30-yard piledriver that flew past Wojceich Szczesny for the final 2-1 scoreline.
There were chances at both ends throughout but Szczesny was the busier of the two goalkeepers, making fine saves from Scott Parker and Rafa van der Vaart in the first half, then denying Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe in the second half. Gareth Bale was also inches wide on two occasions.
Rafa opened the scoring in the 40th minute but the Gunners enjoyed spells of possession, not least at the start of the second half, and equalised in the 50th minute through Aaron Ramsey.
With the visitors on top in terms of possession, Harry opted to make a change to 'thicken things up' in midfield, replacing Rafa with Sandro to match up Arsenal's three-man midfield.
It had the desired effect with Sandro and Scott Parker everywhere and Gareth stretching the game down the left, we created a number of chances after Kyle's cracker to put the game beyond doubt.
"In the first half they had more possession than us and it was difficult," said Harry.
"They played with an extra man in midfield, three against our two and they were always going to get that extra possession.
"They could play around us and we found it hard to make contact with their midfield, we had Luka and Scotty running around against three.
"That’s the chance you take when you go with the team I picked. I went with Rafa, Gareth and two strikers. We played with an open team but we got the goal and went in 1-0 up at half-time.
"I nearly made the change at half-time just to thicken us up (in midfield) but I thought ‘we’re 1-0 up, let’s see how it goes’.
"They started the second half well, got the goal and they were in the ascendancy then and we could have been in trouble.
"So I made the change to try and get a grip of the midfield a bit more. Sandro came on and I thought we did that.
"I thought we looked stronger, we got on top and created all the chances.
"We were the better team in the second half and deserved the win. We had a couple of great chances to finish them off, just couldn’t find that third goal.
"Overall though it was a fantastic performance and we’re playing well. They are good side, take nothing away from them. They can play, keep the ball, have good movement, clever, but in the end I thought we deserved it."
