Our super skipper returned to Spurs Lodge on Monday after his World Cup exploits with England.
He will now play catch up to a certain extent but hopes to be back in action sooner rather than later.
"Watford, maybe," said Teddy when asked when he might feature in a friendly. "The manager will have his plans and I be told when and where to come in. I'm training again and we'll go from there."
Teddy is well versed as to the rigours of pre-season and it doesn't appear the prospect has grown on him over the years.
"Whatever you do in pre-season is always hard," he added. "You can never say it is easy to come back because you've always lost a bit of fitness and you have to put in the hard work to get that back.
"You'll hear plenty of moans and groans from me along the way but that is all part of coming back in and going through the pre-season ritual."
Teddy Sheringham could make his first pre-season appearance in Saturday's friendly against Watford.
