After a light session on Friday, training kicked-off in earnest this morning (Saturday) with temperatures expected to top 80 degrees later today.
"It's nice to be out here," reflected Ledley. "We've had a difficult last month or so, some tough games and it's nice to be in a country where the weather is hot to train, to get into some team spirit and relax.
"This is four or five days of doing just that. You do get gaps at this time of the season and we've got a bit of a break until our next game, so I don't think it will do us any harm.
"It was a pretty tough session out there this morning but at least you can appreciate the weather."
It is always interesting to see the varying amounts of luggage players bring with them on these trips - remembering that kitman Roy Reyland takes care of their training gear - and Ledley certainly isn't in the 'less is more' camp.
"I tend to overdo it myself," he said. "I'm not one of those people who can plan on what they are going to wear one day to the next. I like to look in my suitcase and see what's there.
"That means my suitcase is quite heavy at the moment but I probably won't wear half the stuff in there!
"When we get a bit of free time I'll get out and about and see what's in Dubai. Sunbathing is not really my thing! There are other ways of relaxing and that's what I'll be looking at."
Ledley King can see the benefits of the squad's training break in Dubai.
