Voice of the Lane

Posted on 15 July 2002  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

This afternoon we launch a new audio item featuring the Voice of the Lane - stadium PA announcer and Spursline presenter Pete Abbott.

Most Spurs fans will be familiar with Pete's voice from either from his role at the Lane, from Spursline, from his website commentaries or early birds may recognise him from his sports bulletins on the No-Nonsense Sports Breakfast Show on TalkSport.

Pete, 40, has been a Spurs fan all his life and attended his first game in 1971.

He's has added his voice to the matchday experience at the Lane for the last five years and has relayed the news on Spursline for the last decade.

He has now agreed to lend his voice to the Official Spurs Website and each week he will look back on the events of the previous seven days and look ahead to the weekend's fixture.

Often his bulletins will include interviews from his visits to Spurs Lodge and he will call on his many years as a fan to offer a personal take on all things Spurs.
