Vital point

Harry Redknapp insists every point is precious at this stage of the season.

Robbie Keane's last-minute goal secured a 1-1 draw at Sunderland on Saturday and gave us that little extra breathing space in 12th place in the Premier League.

We're now five points clear of the bottom three but it's so close in the league that victory at the Stadium of Light would have lifted us up to 10th. In fact we're still only seven points behind West Ham in seventh.

"It was a vital point for us - every point is when you are stuck down at the bottom," said Harry.

"We would have loved to have won but it was so important we didn't get beaten.

"For me, there are so many teams still involved, from Fulham downwards. Even Wigan on 35 points - I'm sure Steve Bruce is still waiting for another win and a couple of points. It's so tight down there.

"The thing we have in our favour is that we're playing very well.

"We've been in excellent form. We've had a tough run this month, especially the last two weeks, but we've managed to take seven points from two away games and one at home.

"We went to Hull and won, played ever so well against Manchester United at Wembley and then beat Middlesbrough 4-0 in the week, so we're in good form.

"We've only lost one home game since I've been at the club out of 17, that was 1-0 against Everton and that looked a banker draw.

"Even the game against Shakhtar when I made all the changes, the boys who came in did a great job and we could easily have gone through that night, so that was encouraging.

"I'm confident we'll be okay, we've enough quality in the team."
