All the action from our reserves' narrow defeat against reigning champions Aston Villa at Villa Park on Monday night.

THE KEY ACTION...

Full time: Aston Villa 1, Spurs 0

81.22: Herd rifled low drive just wide from the edge of the box.

73.45: Quick break found Taarabt with shooting chance 25 yards out, didn't get hold of it and Parish gathered easily.

5.12: Osbourne won 50-50 against Boateng and then received the ball back from Stieber, tame shot straight at Alnwick.

61.42: Great defending from Cuellar - Hutton and Dervite won challenges on the edge of the box, the ball fell to Barcham who had time to control and shoot from 16 yards, Cuellar dived in to block.

59.15: Good interplay between Barcham and Taarabt, Taarabt took the ball on for a few yards, central, drilled just a couple of yards wide from 25 yards.

55.15: CLOSE - SPURS. Great run from Hutton, defenders backed off so he drove into the box, switched to his right foot on the edge of the box and fired just over.

53.41: Taarabt, left side of the box, held the ball up before laying back to Hutton, he in turn rolled it back for Boateng to angle a side-foot effort about three yards wide from the left corner of the box.

8.01pm: Second half kicks off.

Half-time: Aston Villa 1, Spurs 0

Added time: Boateng 30-yarder had Parish flying through the air but shot was always angling wide.

44.12: CHANCE - VILLA. Osbourne released Harewood through on goal, had about 35 yards to goal, central, Dervite sprinted to get back and last-ditch slide might have done enough as Harewood scuffed effort just wide.

41.12: Harewood found space midway in our half, threaded pass into path of Routledge running from right to left, Rocha tracked him all the way and Routledge couldn't wrap his foot around the ball, shooting wide.

32.55: Hutton drilled in free-kick from the left, Herd attempted to clear but the ball flicked off his shin and fortunately straight into the hands of keeper Parish.

28.50: WOODWORK - VILLA. Osbourne rattled the crossbar with a thunderbolt from 25 yards.

22.54: GOAL - VILLA. More than a touch of fortune about it. Stieber delivered a low corner, it travelled through a few pairs of legs, Herd connected well from 10 yards, Alnwick made a reaction save but the ball cannoned onto Hutton on the post and bobbled over the goalline.
