Members of the Trust packed into Whites at the Lane to put their questions to David — and the recently installed vice-chairman did not duck a question and responded to supporters’ concerns in a forthright, witty manner.
The meeting was designed to be a private affair — no members of the press admitted — to enable David to be as relaxed and candid as possible with his replies as he outlined his vision for the future of the club.
Topics ranged from possible stadium expansion to the pricing of season tickets to the Sol Campbell saga — and the massed ranks of the Trust appreciated David’s honesty during the two-hour session, which ended with a standing ovation for the man in the spotlight.
David himself enjoyed the direct interaction with supporters.
"It was great," enthused David. "A good reaction, a good crowd and important questions."
Several supporters commented on the evident good spirit of the meeting and that what David Pleat would describe as ‘Tottenham Togetherness’ had returned to the club.
"You’ve got a great bunch of supporters," added David. "And they just want to hear what’s been going on, they want to know the facts behind it — and in this sort of forum it’s possible to have a very shared vision, a shared image of what’s going on and to be truthful. And I think they appreciate that.
Check out the site early next week when we will detail some of the key questions and responses from the meeting.
