Michael Dawson believes our point at Old Trafford underlines the character and confidence of the squad.

Jermaine Jenas' fine free-kick cancelled out Mikael Silvestre's early goal and earned a deserved 1-1 draw against Manchester United after we had the better of the second half.

It was also the third successive match on the road where we've come from behind to secure points †from 1-0 down at Villa to draw 1-1, from 2-0 down at Charlton to win 3-2 and now Saturday's draw at Old Trafford.

"Those results say it all really," said Michael, outstanding in central defence alongside Ledley King against Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Wayne Rooney. "We did well at Villa after losing Anthony Gardner with an injury, to recover from 2-0 down to win at Charlton was fantastic and now United.

The draw maintained our unbeaten away record after five games as we remained in the top three of the Premiership

"Old Trafford is a really tough place to go, everyone knows that but we went there, showed that character again and performance-wise I felt we did really well.

"To be honest, even if we hadn't equalised and come away with a point I would have said we'd played well in the second half. Obviously, if that scenario had happened it would have been a huge disappointment.

"Thankfully that wasn't the case. I thought we played really well in the second half and thoroughly deserved the point. To play so well as well made it all the more enjoyable."
