Mauricio enjoyed a successful 18-year career as a player in Argentina, Spain and France before his first coaching role at Espanyol in 2009.
Now he’s preparing for his second season at Spurs with the hours ticking away until our high-profile Premier League opener against Manchester United – all eyes will be on the first game of the 2015-16 season kicking-off at 12.45pm at Old Trafford.
“It’s different now to when I was a player, but both still very exciting,” said Mauricio.
“As a player it was only about preparing my mind to compete, to follow the instructions from the manager and try to help my team-mates on the pitch.
“Now, we need to be aware of a lot of different things. But this is our passion and it’s not a problem!
“It’s always exciting. The players have worked hard in pre-season. We start the season with good energy, the batteries are full and now we need to enjoy the season.”
