Spurs U18s 2-2 Coventry City
Our Under-18s were denied victory by the last kick of the game after an indifferent performance against Coventry City.
Coach Pat Holland reported that Coventry actually had the better of the first half only for Claude Seanla to hand us the lead going into the interval.
Coventry equalised early in the second half but we responded with our best spell as Radwan Hamed put us 2-1 up and Jamie Davis went close.
But just as it looked like we would take maximum points, Coventry mustered a winner with only seconds left.
Pat took up the story. "To be honest, Coventry were far the better side in the first half. We were ill-disciplined, very disappointing and in fairness our goal came against the run of play.
"The ball was played into the box and fell to Claude (pictured left) who turned and took his goal very well. That was the breakthrough but we didn't really deserve it.
"I had to make a couple of changes at half-time to get us moving so I brought on John Kyraicou and Radwan Hamed up front.
"That eventually gave us the lift we wanted but not before they equalised at the start of the second half, a free shot at goal in the box.
"Our best spell came after that. We scored from a corner kick, Jamie O'Hara played it to the far post where Radwan scored and then we played some good stuff and Jamie was unlucky not to score, he made a great run, beat the last defender, chipped the keeper and it went wrong side of the post.
"In fairness to Coventry they had a right go at it again in the final five minutes and scored with the last kick of the game. That was disappointing from our point of view but I think they deserved it."
