Aaron Lennon and Tom Huddlestone helped England Under-21s to a 4-1 win against Poland but Marton Fulop was the big winner of last night.

Both Aaron - another fine display down the right wing - and Tom played the full 90 minutes as England stormed into a 3-0 lead in the first half against the Poles at Sheffield Wednesday in the final match of European Championship qualifying. England are in the play-offs having finished second in the group.

Aaron twice fed decent chances for Carlton Cole that were missed

Cole, who also hit the woodwork, made amends with the opener and goals followed from Newcastle's Steven Taylor (2) and Charlton's Jerome Thomas.

Goalkeeper Marton and his Hungarian team mates were celebrating as a shock win by Emil Hallfredsson's Iceland over Sweden handed Hungary a play-off place in Group Eight.

Hungary must have through they'd blown their chances with a 2-2 home draw against Croatia but Iceland hammered Sweden 4-1 to hand Hungary second place.

Reto Ziegler - currently on loan at Hamburg in the Bundesliga - was another happy man as his Switzerland side booked a place in the play-offs by beating the Republic of Ireland 1-0. Reto had a late volley superbly saved.
