The draw for the first round of the UEFA Cup takes place in Monaco from noon tomorrow, Friday August 29.
The first round is held over two legs scheduled for September 18 and October 2 and winners will go into the group stages of the competition.
The group stages will again consist of eight groups of five teams with the top three of each group progressing to the last 32, where they will be joined by eight clubs finishing third in their Champions League group.
The tournament again has a strong cast list this season with the likes of AC Milan, Benfica, Sevilla, Valencia, St Etienne, Paris SG, Hamburg, Borussia Dortmund, Dinamo Bucharest, Feyenoord and Ajax all involved at the first round stage.
Our Barclays Premier League rivals Everton and Portsmouth are also in the first round with Manchester City and Aston Villa bidding to join them with their second qualifying round, second leg ties taking place on Thursday night. Villa look comfortable with a 4-1 lead against FH Hafnarfjordur of Iceland but City travel to Danish side FC Midtjylland trailing 1-0 from the first leg.
Other teams in action tonight include Hapoel Tel Aviv, Austria Vienna, Brondby, Stuttgart, FC Copenhagen, Besiktas, Napoli and Hertha Berlin.
