Pat Holland described Saturday's draw at Villa as his side's best performance of the season.

After a tough start the lads forged into a 2-0 lead via Jamie Davis and Charlie Lee. Villa responded just before half-time and with conditions in their favour in the second half, levelled after 55 minutes.

However, we could have grabbed the points when Charlie Daniels (pictured left) rattled the underside of the crossbar.

Coach Pat reflected: "I thought it was the best we played this season. Villa had a cup game in the week and were knocked out by Ipswich, so they needed to raise their game and were up for it.

"There was quite a strong wind in our favour in the first half but for the opening 15 minutes we couldn't get out of our half.

"Then, on 20 minutes, Joe Martin rolled it to Radwan Hamed, he in turn played it to Jamie Davis who drove home to the keeper's right. All three schoolboys were involved in that goal and that was smashing.

"That took a lot of pressure off us and we started to play.

"We could have gone 2-0 up, had a great chance in the box and then Charlie Lee (pictured right) got the ball on the touchline, tried a trick, curled it and the next thing we know it's in the net! He's claimed it so I'm giving him the goal and he deserved it on his performance.

"We were 2-0 up and I just wanted us to hold it until half-time because it was a strong wind. I remember turning to Jamie O'Hara on the bench and saying to him that we needed to hold it because they would come at us after the break.

"But then Villa broke from one of our attacks, went straight down our end and scored.

"So the lads were a little down at half-time but I reminded them of the Everton game in the FA Youth Cup, a similar situation when we were 2-0 up and they came back.

"Villa picked their game up in the second half and scored from a free-kick 10 minutes into it but in fairness to the lads, they really dug in. Charlie Daniels then struck the crossbar with a terrific shot and it was one of those games, really exciting."
