Our young Academy team - including four Under-16s - beat Ipswich Town 2-1 in the Premier Academy League on Saturday.
Alex McQueen, Shaq Coulthirst, Victor Zapata and Ruben Lameiras all started with Coulthirst on target in an impressive first half display.
The lads took the lead inside five minutes through Massimo Luongo (pictured) before Coulhirst fired home for 2-0 on the half-hour.
Ipswich hit back in the second half and replied in the 70th minute but with goalkeeper Jordan Archer in fine form, the points were safe.
Coach Alex Inglethorpe reported: "I was delighted with how the team started and we could have been 3-0 up inside 15 minutes.
"We took the lead after five minutes after good work through the centre and Massimo Luongo hit a low shot into the bottom corner.
"We had a number of chances after that. We'll work on the younger lads' quality of finishing, but that's something that will come. There were a lot of positives signs there.
"We went 2-0 up after 30 minutes after good work down the left, Ruben Lameiras found Shaq Coulthirst who finished well with his left foot.
"Jordan Archer made two excellent saves, one from a deflected shot and we went in 2-0 up at half-time.
"The second half was much more scrappy and we didn't create as much.
"Credit to Ipswich though, they pressed forward and got a goal back after 70 minutes.
"That made the last 20 minutes a bit more hectic than it really needed to be, but we saw it out for a good win."
The team has now lost just one of their last 14 matches in Group B of the PAL, a run stretching back to November 20.
