John McDermott was delighted with our Under-18s convincing friendly victory against Brentford on Saturday.

The match ticked all the boxes for a pre-season encounter as the lads won 3-0 with goals from Terry Dixon, Andy Barcham and Radwan Hamed.

"We were really pleased with how it went," said Academy Manager John. "We'd already played against two school Academies for conditioning and this was our first competitive game.

"Brentford beat us last season, have a good squad and always punch above their weight in the FA Youth Cup and that's why we wanted to play them.

"We went 1-0 up after 20 minutes when Terry Dixon ghosted in at the far post to meet Daniel Hutchins' cross.

"Later in the first half Barcham scored with a good finish after play down the middle and into the second half the best goal of the three, a right-wing cross from Kyle Fraser-Allen and Radwan Hamed scored at the far post.

"We also looked dangerous from set-plays, everyone got a run out and we came away without any injuries, which is just as important.

"It was a very convincing victory and a lot of positives came out of it."

Spurs U18s: Button (Stroud, 75), Hutchins, Lee, Martin, Hughton, Livermore, Hutton (Foulkes, 70), Dixon (Fraser-Allen, 65), Davis, Hamed, Barcham.
