Our Under-18s came from a goal down to draw Saturday's big game against Premier Academy League leaders Leicester City at Spurs Lodge.
It was the team's first draw in the PAL this season against a powerful Foxes side who remain unbeaten and now boast a record of 15 wins in their 19 matches in Group B.
Tom Carroll maintained his fine goalscoring run with the equaliser in the second half at Spurs Lodge.
Coach Alex Inglethorpe reported: "It was a game of contrasting styles with Leicester more physical in their play and a team that tries to dominate you.
"They are strong, physically more mature and it's always a real test to see how the lads stand up to it.
"In fairness, Leicester had the better chances over the 90 minutes but we defended well and came more into it in the second half.
"We went 1-0 down after 30 minutes when their striker gambled on a second ball from a long clearance from the goalkeeper, got onto it and finished well.
"There was a big moment just before half-time when Tom Carroll did well down the right, managed to get into the box and square the ball for Paul Jose Mpoku but he fired over.
"We did better in the second half, got the ball down and enjoyed more possession.
"We levelled it in the 70th minute after a move involving Jake Nicholson and Paul Jose Mpoku, who did well down the left and crossed for Tom to arrive and score, just as he has been doing over the last few weeks.
"As I said, it was a great test for us and we can take positives from it."
The team was also without the services of captain and top goalscorer Harry Kane, who was with the first-team squad at Fulham. "That was great news for us and Harry," added Alex.
