FA PREMIER ACADEMY LEAGUE
Coventry City U18s 3-0 Spurs
It was back down to earth for our Academy side as Coventry ended a run of three straight wins on Saturday.
Coventry also went into the game in fine form and as they ended our mini-revival, stretched their winning sequence to four games.
Coach Pat Holland takes up the story: "They are top of their section and the make up of their side is second and third years, so they are strong in terms of age group.
"But we started brightly in the first 15 minutes, got behind them and created a couple of half-chances.
"Gradually their midfield started to dominate, they became more dangerous around our box and opened the scoring after about 35 minutes with a penalty.
"We went in 1-0 down and changed it at half-time to five across the middle so we could compete with their midfield but within 10 minutes we were 2-0 down, another defensive error.
"That meant we had to change again and it was a shame really having tried to do something and it happened so quickly.
"Coventry made it 3-0 about five minutes later and that was basically game, set and match but we still created, had a shot cleared off the line, another great save from the keeper.
"Full credit to the lads, they kept going to the last and I thought the scoreline was a little harsh on them."
