Many of our new intake of first year scholars got their first taste of Under-18s football last season, while we’ve a handful of second years with experience of that level of football in the ranks after a solid campaign in 2014-15.
Ahead of the big kick-off, Kieran says he’ll be looking for a positive showing from the players as we seek to begin the new Barclays Under-18 Premier League season in winning fashion.
“At this stage of the season, everyone is excited,” he said. “The players have prepared well in all aspects over the last five weeks and everyone is now looking forward to getting back into action tomorrow.
“We had two games against Brighton last year – one was really pleasing and one was disappointing from our point of view – but we know that they will come and try to play attacking, possession football.
“That usually makes for quite an open, exciting and high-level game so I’m sure tomorrow will be the same. We’ll be looking to impose our style on them and look to perform well.”
Kick-off at the Training Centre tomorrow is at 11.30am.
