On Sunday, a team of Spurs supporters, under the auspices of the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust will take the field as THST FC against the Electric Yetis, a team of Leicester City fans.
The Yetis, who have arranged similar games over a number of years to raise funds for charity, arranged the game with THST FC to coincide with the Premiership games between the two clubs, which itself falls during the Kick It Out campaign's Anti Racism "Week of Action".
The game will take place at the Saffron Lane Sports Centre in Leicester with a post match reception hosted by Foxes Against Racism to be attended by the MP's for Leicester (Keith Vaz) and Tottenham (David Lammy).
Daniel Wynne, Chairman of THST commented "We're delighted to be able to help the Kick it Out anti-racism Week of Action and are looking forward to taking on the Yetis. The Tottenham Hotspurs Supporters' Trust is committed to the anti-racism cause and we're very pleased that Tottenham Hotspur Football Club have shown their commitment to the cause by giving us so much help in getting THST FC off the ground."
Jonathan Adelman, player-manager of THST FC explained: "Whilst every football fan loves the banter associated with the game no one can condone racism in football or in society generally and we're glad to be doing our bit to help rid this scourge from the national game."
The multi-ethnic THST FC squad is made up of Spurs fans from several different countries and it is hoped that the squad will play on a regular basis during this and coming seasons.
