But Glenn Hoddle reported that all three ‘were improving’ as the Premiership kick-off draws ever closer.
“Tim, Teddy and Carry are not going to be there,” revealed Glenn before flying out on Saturday. “It’s been disappointing to pick up the injuries to be honest.
“They are improving though. Teddy’s settling down and the thing with an Achilles if you come back too early you set it all the way back again.
“We have to have good man management on that one. Hopefully we can ease that one through. Whether he’s ready for the start of the season is another thing, it looks like time is running out.
“Carry’s got a knee and that just needs rest. Tim is improving, a slight ankle strain and that should clear up.”
Oyvind Leonhardsen (knee) and Darren Anderton (Achilles) were expected to make the trip. “Leo should be okay,” added Glenn. “Darren will have a fitness test on Saturday to see if his Achilles is okay.”
Pre-season injury concerns Stephen Carr, Teddy Sheringham and Tim Sherwood will take no part in Sunday’s friendly against AEK Athens.
