Trio in England U21s

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Three of our rising stars have been named in the England Under-21 squad.<P class=MsoNormal>Ledley King, Luke Young and Alton Thelwell were selected by boss Howard Wilkinson on Friday for the friendly against Spain at Birmingham City next Tuesday (February 27).<P class=MsoNormal>King, 20, and Young, 21, have been capped before and played in last summer&rsquo&#59;s European Championship finals but this represents a first call-up for Thelwell.<P class=MsoNormal>The defender, 20, burst onto the Premiership scene this season after making his debut against Liverpool in November. After eight starts he lost his regular spot in January but is still is the squad.<P class=MsoNormal>King, the find of the season alongside Gary Doherty, has been a fixture in George Graham&rsquo&#59;s plans since his first start this season, also against Liverpool in November, and has excelled in both midfield and defence.<P class=MsoNormal>Young has been hampered by injuries this season but recently returned to starting line-up and has been in fine form as an attacking wing-back.<P class=MsoNormal><B>England U21s squad:</B> Robinson (Leeds), Weaver (Man City), Griffin (Newcastle), Thelwell (Tottenham), Terry (Chelsea), Upson (Arsenal), King (Tottenham), Barry (Aston Villa), Rigott (Derby), Young (Tottenham), Bridge (Southampton), Naylor (Wolves), Dunn (Blackburn, capt), Davis (Fulham), Wilson (Man Utd), Parker (Charlton), Hargreaves (Bayern Munich), Prutton (Nott'm For), Johnson (Derby), Chadwick (Man Utd), Greening (Man Utd), Smith (Leeds), Vassell (Aston Villa), Ameobi (Newcastle), Jeffers (Everton), Christie (Derby).<P class=MsoNormal>&nbsp&#59;<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
