Trials a success

Posted on 7 July 2003  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

On a very hot Sunday recently, over 50 new players came along to Frederick Knights Sports Ground to show off their skills at open trials for Tottenham Hotspur Ladies FC.

The managers and coaches of the Club were very impressed with the turnout and the ability shown by the ladies in what were sweltering conditions.

Club manager Pete Skinner was naturally delighted: "We have never had as good a response as this to the trials and the quality of the players has been generally very high. It shows that the technical skills in the women's game are improving at a rapid rate at all age groups."

With so many players catching the eye, many will be asked back for further assessment, with quite a few who will be offered a place at the Club. Such was the success of the trials, there may even be the prospect of further extending the number of teams that they field!

If you missed the trials day and would like to be considered for any of the Ladies teams you can contact the club through their website at www.spursladies.co.uk
