Spurs U19s 1-1 Ipswich Town

Town hit back late to deny our U19s maximum points.

Fielding mainly an under-18 side, Pat Holland's side dominated possession and deservedly took the lead when Jamie Slabber converted from the penalty spot after being fouled himself.

But Ipswich's late pressure paid dividends when they equalised from a corner late on.

Coach Pat said: "We were the better side in the first half without really creating any clear-cut chances. Neither goalkeeper had a lot to do.

"The second half was similar, we had a lot of possession and after Jamie was fouled and scored, we had another chance that could well have wrapped it up.

"But Ipswich pressed and in the end we gave away a soft goal, a defensive mistake from a corner.

"With the exception of Ben Bowditch we started with an under-18 side and it was an opportunity for them."

Spurs U19s: Rutherford, Perry, McKie, Barnett (Hughes, 70), Bowditch, Foster, Yeates, Noto (Barnard, 70), Slabber, Wettner, Black. Unused subs: Burch, Ford, Tyrie.
