Mauricio Pochettino thanked our fans in Malaysia and Australia and described our summer tour as ‘all positive’.

We took off for Kuala Lumpur last Monday for a tour that took in AIA Cup matches against Malaysia XI and Sydney FC and gave us the chance to engage with our fantastic supporters in Asia and Australia.

The tour was a huge success on and off the pitch with victories in both matches, community events and the sense of a real bond between the club and supporters.

Mauricio was blown away by the support. “The fans have been incredible,” he said.

“I give congratulations to the club, the organisation was fantastic and we’ve enjoyed this tour a lot. It’s so far away from England but the fans are here to support us. They are amazing.

“There were lots of positives. To see us play in front of over 70,000 in Sydney was amazing and a great experience for the younger players. That was fantastic.

“We’ve had no injuries, we finished at a good level and I’m very happy.

“Now it’s time for holidays and a rest and we will start pre-season in the most positive way.”
