Teenagers interested in becoming the innovative designers of the future can take the chance of a dream career by applying to study at Tottenham UTC this week.

An Open Day will be held at White Hart Lane between 1.30pm and 6.30pm today (Wednesday, May 28), giving young people a taste of what to expect when the college opens in September.

Tottenham UTC is currently accepting students for a course in Technology and Science for Sport, Health and Engineering, with Year 10 and 12 students required for the next academic year.

Studying at Tottenham UTC will give you the chance to become part of the next generation of forward thinkers at the forefront of design ideas for the next Olympic Games or within the national health system.

By coming along to Wednesday’s Open Day, you will be able to sample the exciting technology UTC students can get to grips with and take part in activities such as:

- iPad challenges using Cargobot
- learning how to assemble and dissemble a computer
- using Polymorph and mechatronics
- getting to grips with Haptic Robot Arms
- checking out the technology that goes into making Under Armour kit

England winger Andros Townsend attended one of the recent UTC Open Days and had a great time, demonstrating jump mats and the sort of technology he and his team-mates use on a daily basis at the Club’s state-of-the-art training centre.

He said: “It gets young local people together in education and gives them a real prospect of a full time job at the end of the day.

“The sports department will be working with the sort of technology footballers use on a daily basis – things like jump mats and the monitoring equipment.

“It is unbelievable for the kids to have this opportunity and from speaking to them it sounds as though they are looking forward to it.

“We’re building the new stadium here so it’s good to get involved in this and build futures for people around here. These kids are the future and it’s good for a club like Tottenham to be supporting them.”
