The Tottenham Tribute Trust (TTT) was set up as a joint initiative between Tottenham Hotspur Football Club and the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust in order to assist ex-Spurs players and other members of staff who have fallen on hard times.
Totally independent of the Club and a registered charity (no.1094092), it now needs your help to identify potential beneficiaries as this the hardest task for the seven Trustees.
TTT’s first fund-raising activity was The Tribute Match against DC United in October 2002. A whole host of former Spurs heroes once again turned out in Spurs colours including Jurgen Klinsmann, Paul Gascoigne, David Ginola, Chris Waddle, Clive Allen and Paul Allen. Some of the money raised from the match and all the other events that went alongside it has been spent helping a number of people from the double winning team including Les Allen and Bobby Smith who have both had hip replacement operations. Other beneficiaries include Alan Mullery and Keith Weller.
There are however, still funds waiting to be spent and this is where you can help. If you know and are in contact with any former players or employees who need our help please get in touch.
The vast amounts of money in the modern game were not available in yesteryear and the TTT wants to help those players and employees. With the prospect of a long harsh winter ahead of us we can help with paying fuel and utility bills in fact anything that will help eliminate distress. Each application will be dealt with in the strictest of confidence and the TTT will respect anybody who does not wish to have their troubles publicised.
Our website (www.tottenhamtributetrust.com) has an application form which can be downloaded or you can contact us by e-mail at email@example.com or by writing to The Chairman of Trustees, Tottenham Tribute Trust, Po Box 263, Loughton Essex IG10 1WA.
We look forward to hearing from you.
