Tottenham Hotspur to host its second Wembley Jobs Fair

• Club to hold its second Jobs Fair in the space of a year at Wembley National Stadium, 1–4.30pm, Tuesday 20 March.
• 50 employers from a range of industries to attend and offer live job opportunities, with a key focus on the potential of ex-offenders.
• First Tottenham Hotspur Jobs Fair held at Wembley in July attracted 800 job seekers from the local area.
• Club, through its Foundation, has successfully delivered a range of community programmes across the Borough of Brent throughout the 2017-18 football season.

The Club will be holding its second Jobs Fair in the space of a year at Wembley National Stadium, 1–4.30pm on Tuesday 20 March.

As part of the Club’s commitment to the London Borough of Brent during its season playing home matches at Wembley, 50 employers from a range of industries will be in attendance, offering live job opportunities.

Over 800 local people attended a similar event held by the Club in July last year, with this month’s Jobs Fair aimed at promoting the potential of employing ex-offenders.

Earlier in the day, Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) and their key partners who make up the Employer Engagement Partnership Group (EEPG) for London and Thames Valley will hold an event demonstrating the benefits of working with prisons to create academies that train offenders in the skills needed to support businesses.

The event is an opportunity for employers who currently employ ex-offenders to offer advice and showcase success stories to businesses who do not currently do so.

One of the organisations delivering a workshop during the morning event will be the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, the Club’s charitable arm that has piloted a Resettlement programme for 140 offenders approaching their release date from HMP Wormwood Scrubs.

The Foundation has a proven track record of delivering employment opportunities for ex-offenders for over a decade within its local community in Haringey.

Myton Brown, 21, is a beneficiary of this work and said: “When I went to prison I was isolated and lost confidence, while my hopes of finding a career faded.

“My Tottenham Hotspur Foundation mentor, Kieran, was the one who stuck by me, helping me into my current role with a railway maintenance firm and thanks to him I’m now looking forward to the future.”

No pre-registration is required to attend the Jobs Fair. Vacancies will be available within industries including hospitality, catering, stewarding, security, health care, retail, construction and more.
