‘Diversity Day’ at Haringey Sixth Form Centre, home to the Foundation’s Education and Futsal Development Centre, provides an opportunity for students to showcase their talents with a packed schedule of activities including musical recitals, circus acts, theatre performances and football tournaments staged at the Centre’s impressive sports facilities.

The end of year celebrations culminated in the unveiling of a new partnership plaque to announce the continuation of the successful relationship between Tottenham Hotspur Foundation and Haringey Sixth Form Centre.

The partnership, launched in August 2013, has seen 15 BTEC Sports students aged between 16 to 18 undertake a full-time course of study at the Centre, alongside futsal coaching delivered by Tottenham Hotspur Foundation coaches.

Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, the charitable arm of the Club, currently runs five Education and Football Development Centres in the local areas, in addition to the Education and Futsal Development Centre at Haringey Sixth Form Centre. The continuation of this partnership will see Foundation coaches deliver first-class coaching, sports education and mentoring to a total of 30 Haringey Sixth Form Centre students in the 2014/15 academic year.

Grant Cornwell MBE, CEO of Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, said: “We are incredibly proud of our continuing relationship with Haringey Sixth Form Centre, and are delighted to be here to support this fantastic learning facility’s ‘Diversity Day’ celebrations.

“On behalf of everyone at Tottenham Hotspur Foundation I would like to thank the staff and students for their continued support of the futsal programme, where we’ve seen first-hand the positive impact sports participation can have in helping to support young people in a range of engaging, educational activities.

“We’re committed to continuing to deliver high quality futsal coaching and look forward to working with the staff at the college to deliver education and futsal opportunities for the BTEC Sport students over the coming years.”

June Jarrett, Principal Haringey Sixth Form Centre, said: “Haringey Sixth Form Centre is proud to be working in partnership with the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation on this innovative project.

“The Education and Futsal Development Centre has been very successful in its first year, providing an excellent mix of education and Futsal training to the students who took part. They became outstanding ambassadors for both the Sixth Form Centre and the Foundation.

“The Sixth Form is very pleased that the programme will be expanded next year to include more students and look forward to the continuation of this exciting partnership for many years to come.”
