Martin Jol has been impressed with the performances so far of new signing Teemu Tainio.
The midfielder featured in three different positions against Boca Juniors on Saturday, showing his great versatility, before making his presence felt again in the second half against Sundowns on Monday.
The ease of adaption displayed by the Finland international offers greater central options for the Head Coach as he continues his preparations for the forthcoming season.
"I think he is a very good little player," he explained. "He's aggressive, has good stamina, he's technical and tactically very good.
"He played on the right side, then in hole off Mido, then he had to play on the left - and he did ever so well. He was very tired, he has worked hard in training and I am happy with him."
Martin agrees that Teemu possesses the tenacious qualities that will serve him well in the Premiership, as demonstrated by his winning of the ball and setting up of Jermain Defoe's leveller in the opening game.
"Yes, he tries to get into the box too. He can head the ball well even though he is small, a very complete player who is a very good addition for us."
