Teemu Tainio said a near full-house at White Hart Lane for the visit of Porto made his first game at the stadium all the more special.
A bumper pre-season crowd of 36,112 flocked to the Lane for our final warm-up fixture before the trip to Portsmouth on Saturday and it proved a fitting occasion for long-time Spurs fan Teemu to step on the pitch for the first time.
"It was a great feeling and, at the beginning, I was very excited because it was my first game at White Hart Lane and it was full," he reflected after the 2-0 win over the former Champions League winners.
"It went okay and thankfully we won the game. I really like the stadium, the crowd was great and the pitch is fine."
Unbeaten in the pre-season period, Teemu suspects the team are now in pretty good nick to face the challenges of the new Premiership campaign.
"We haven't lost and that is a good sign, but now we must concentrate on the competition ahead. It is coming quickly and we will be ready for it.
"I think we will be working on the little things in the week, nearly everybody is fit so we are definitely ready for the league games. I think the team is looking good, we are a young group and Edgar coming in will be a great help."
Teemu went a little bit modest on us when asked to comment on his fine assist that led to Jermain Defoe's second goal of the afternoon...
"I like to run and tackle but sometimes I can hit some nice balls. I was lucky this time!"
