Tom Huddlestone is delighted to have been called-up for a qualifying match by England.
The midfielder is in Fabio Capello's squad alongside Aaron Lennon and Peter Crouch for Tuesday's Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro at Wembley.
Tom won his first senior cap in the friendly against Brazil last November and was part of boss Capello's 30-man squad for the World Cup.
He featured in friendlies against Mexico and Japan and but didn't make the final cut for South Africa.
In fine form this season and a mainstay of Harry Redknapp's team for the last 18 months, Tom is now back in the squad and hoping to feature in a competitive fixture for the Three Lions.
"The only squads I've been in before have been for friendlies, so to be called up for a qualifier, a match that means a lot with three points at stake, is special," said Tom.
"It's nice to be a part of it. It seems like a long time since I was at the training camp before the World Cup and it's good to be back in the squad.
"At the same time, there are a few injuries as well, so you never know what would have happened if a few players had been fully fit.
"I've just got to try to do what I'm doing for Tottenham, try to stay in our team first and foremost and then try to get into the England squad as regularly as possible."
